The endless hours in my alchemy lab - The Glaze Room - has brought us a fantastic, new surface finish. Here is layering of 3 different glazes creating the Luminescent Pearl collection.

This guest bedroom is part of our Creative Sanctuary — a quiet space shaped by natural materials, craftsmanship, and intention. Located beside the Laima Ceramics studio, it welcomes guests of our residencies, internships, and courses into an environment that encourages rest, simplicity, and creative focus.

In this work, I explore large-scale coiled floor vases finished with my signature metallic matte bronze and volcanic-crater glazes. These surfaces, shaped by trapped gases erupting through molten glaze, echo lunar landscapes and cooled lava fields — a dance between intention and the unpredictable force of fire. Each piece becomes a raw, tactile expression of geology, time, and transformation.

The RUST range emerged from a series of intuitive glaze laboratory experiments — a palette of orange, tan and deep brown tones that feel both earthen and unexpectedly warm. A collection that carries the quiet glow of oxidised metal and the comfort of sun-warmed soil.

From puzzled smiles to delighted discovery, these quirky porcelain characters have charmed tea lovers since 2013. Designed for loose herbal tea and crafted with care in Latvia, they celebrate both tradition and collaboration — and a journey of embracing my identity as both maker and designer.

After years of working with volcanic glaze, this finish revealed something unexpected — a delicate inlay of bubbling texture set against pure white, creating a contrast that strangely resembled lace.

LEAF is a quiet celebration of nature transformed into elegance — abstract burdock leaf patterns flowing across pure white porcelain, creating a surface that feels both organic and refined. A collection that softly holds the meeting point between wild growth and graceful restraint.

Our first collaboration in the “material world” unfolded quietly, playfully, and naturally — a meeting of clay and wood, form and function, guided by shared life, creativity, and love.
