TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By making a booking with Laima Ceramics, I confirm that:

  • I am in sound mind and body and am not aware of any condition or circumstance that would prevent me from safely participating in this programme.

  • I accept full responsibility for my own physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being during my stay.

  • I understand that no form of medical, psychological, or therapeutic treatment is provided during courses, residencies, or internships, and that I am responsible for seeking professional support externally if needed.

  • I acknowledge that the use of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited on the premises.

  • I accept responsibility for any damage caused through misuse of facilities, equipment, or materials and agree to cover associated repair or replacement costs.

  • I understand that I am responsible for my own travel arrangements, food, and personal expenses during my stay, unless explicitly stated otherwise.

  • I acknowledge that accommodation is self-catered and agree to maintain my personal living space during my stay.

PLEDGE OF CONDUCT

By staying at Laima Ceramics, I agree to the following:

  • I will respect the space — mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical — of myself, others, and the environment.

  • I understand that this is a family home and agree to be respectful of neighbours and household rhythms, including keeping noise levels low and avoiding gatherings after 21:00.

  • If staying in shared accommodation, I agree to be respectful and considerate toward my roommates.

  • I commit to acting ecologically by turning off electrical appliances when not in use and responsibly sorting my own waste.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

All courses, residencies, and internships at Laima Ceramics are offered in very limited numbers and require advance planning, preparation, and blocked calendar time. For this reason, cancellation policies are based primarily on timing and capacity, rather than the reason for cancellation.

Standard Policy

  • You may withdraw from your booking within 14 days of registration, in which case your payment will be refunded minus a 20% processing and administration fee.

  • After 14 days from registration, all payments are non-refundable.

Cancellations made after the 14-day period — including those due to illness, personal circumstances, family matters, or medical procedures — are not eligible for refunds, regardless of the reason.

In some cases, a voucher for a future programme may be offered only if the cancelled place is successfully filled by another participant. This applies to cancellations made with sufficient notice and is subject to availability.

For programmes that use a deposit-based booking structure (such as the July group course):

  • Deposits are non-refundable under all circumstances.

  • The remaining balance must be paid by the stated deadline.

  • Cancellation after full payment follows the same conditions outlined above.

Force Majeure

In rare circumstances beyond our control — such as natural disasters, pandemic-related restrictions, government travel limitations, or serious medical emergencies affecting the host or instructor — we may need to cancel or reschedule a course, residency, or internship.

In such cases, we will always aim to find a fair and reasonable solution. Depending on the situation, this may include:

  • rescheduling your stay to a later date, or

  • offering a voucher for a future programme of your choice, valid for 12 months, or

  • issuing a partial or full refund where appropriate.

Any resolution will be discussed openly and handled with care, taking into account the specific circumstances.

TERMINATION OF CONTRACT

We value respectful communication and healthy group dynamics and make every effort to foster a safe and supportive environment for everyone sharing this space. The well-being of people, animals, and the integrity of the place are always the primary consideration.

For this reason, we reserve the right to terminate a participant’s stay or programme with immediate effect and without refund if house rules are violated or if behaviour is deemed disruptive, unsafe, or disrespectful to others, the animals, or the space. Such decisions are made at the sole discretion of Laima Ceramics.

House Rules

  • No smoking or drug use is permitted inside the studio or accommodation buildings.

  • Excessive alcohol consumption in a way that disrupts the group, compromises safety, or affects respectful interaction is not permitted.

  • No mental, emotional, or physical violence, harassment, or threatening behaviour will be tolerated.

PROGRAMME ADJUSTMENTS

Laima Ceramics reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the programme, schedule, or facilities when necessary due to weather conditions, animal welfare considerations, health reasons, or other unforeseen circumstances, while maintaining the overall integrity of the experience.

Horse Interaction Acknowledgement

By participating in any horse-related activities at Laima Ceramics, I acknowledge and agree that:

  • I understand that being around horses involves inherent risks

  • I choose to participate voluntarily and accept personal responsibility for my safety while near the horses.

  • I agree to follow all guidance, boundaries, and safety instructions provided by Laima Ceramics.

  • I confirm that I am physically and mentally fit to participate and will communicate any discomfort or limitations.

  • I understand that respectful, sober, and attentive behaviour is required at all times around the horses.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Laima Ceramics shall not be held liable for personal injury, illness, loss, or damage to personal property during the stay, except in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
