Wheel-thrown and finished with subtle hand-built elements, each vase carries its own gentle irregularity. The exterior is glazed in a dramatic crater lava glaze — a highly reactive, mineral-rich surface that transforms uniquely in the kiln. As it expands and contracts during firing, it forms soft craters, ridges and tonal depth reminiscent of moon rock and weathered stone. Decorative and tactile, the surface may feel bold and rugged in places — a natural expression of its wabi-sabi character.
Fully functional and glazed inside, the vase holds water and is suited for flowers or for standing alone as a sculptural accent.
