"SELSOR" Glossy Light Blue— Glaze Powder
A glossy, light blue glaze with a delicate, almost translucent quality.
When applied thinly, Selsor appears soft and nearly transparent, allowing the clay body to show through. With a thicker application, the colour develops into a more pronounced light blue. The glaze moves beautifully across the surface, creating gentle variation and depth while remaining well behaved during firing.
Pictured on both porcelain and stoneware, Selsor has a subtle celadon-like quality, especially where the glaze pools and becomes more saturated.
Recommended Firing Range
1240–1280°C / ≈ 2264–2336°F
Cone 7–9 equivalent
Lead-free • Cadmium-free
Suitable for high-fired stoneware and porcelain.
SAMPLE glaze package — 100 g (≈ 3.5 oz / 0.22 lb)
To prepare, add water at approximately a 0.8:1 ratio.
Coverage
The 100 g sample pack is enough to glaze approximately 2 medium-sized matcha bowls or 4 small cups or plates.
The 500 g pack will cover approximately 10–20 pieces, depending on the size of the pieces and thickness of application.
Sold in Powder Form Only
Mixing Guidelines
Begin with a 0.8:1 water-to-powder ratio.
Sieve thoroughly.
Adjust with a small amount of extra water until the glaze reaches your preferred consistency.
IMPORTANT:
You MUST mix the entire dry bag at once.
Because this glaze is hand-blended, partial mixing can cause uneven ingredient distribution and inconsistent firing results.
Yield reference:
500 g (≈ 1.1 lb) → approx. 800 ml (≈ 27 fl oz) liquid glaze.
Safety Warning
• Do not ingest.
• Wear gloves when mixing or applying.
• Avoid contact with eyes; rinse thoroughly if contact occurs.
• Prevent glaze dust — never sweep dry material; clean with a wet cloth only.
• Ensure good ventilation during firing.
