SILKY — Velvet Matte White Porcelain Glaze

from €30.00

Have you ever held a piece of unfired porcelain and wished that perfect, powdery matte surface could remain after firing?
For years, I searched for that glaze — soft, velvety, luminous — until I finally found SILKY.

A beautifully formulated matte white glaze designed especially for porcelain, SILKY preserves that dry, unfired look while adding a subtle inner glow. Its finish is smooth like satin, velvety to the touch, and wonderfully consistent.
A dream glaze for minimalist, contemporary porcelain work.

Recommended Firing Range

1260–1290°C (≈ 2300–2354°F)
Cone 8–10 equivalent
Best on porcelain, but may also work stoneware.

Sold in Powder Form Only

Price per 0.5 kg (500 g) of dry glaze.

Mixing Guidelines

  1. Start with 1:1 water-to-powder ratio.

  2. Sieve thoroughly.

  3. Add small amounts of additional water to fine-tune thickness.

IMPORTANT:
You must mix the entire bag at once.
This glaze is blended by hand; partial mixing will result in uneven ingredient distribution.

Yield reference:
500 g (≈ 1.1 lb) → approx. 800 ml (≈ 27 fl oz) liquid glaze.

Application Notes

• Apply an even layer by dipping, pouring, spraying, or brushing.
• Works beautifully as a full matte surface or combined with other glazes.

Pictured examples:
– Matte white SILKY rim paired with Metallic Bronze
– SILKY exterior paired with Turquoise Glossy Crackle interior

SILKY offers an elegant canvas for both simple and complex glaze combinations.

Safety Warning

• Do not ingest.
• Wear gloves when mixing and applying.
• Avoid eye contact; rinse thoroughly with water if contact occurs.
• Never sweep dry glaze; clean with a wet cloth only.
• Ensure good ventilation during firing.
