Turquoise Crystalline Glaze Powder

from €35.00

A gorgeous turquoise crystalline glaze with an underwater-world depth.
Even in a regular firing schedule, this glaze can produce soft crystal blooms and shimmering mineral movement, giving your work a luminous, aquatic feel. Works beautifully on both stoneware and porcelain.

Lead-free • Cadmium-free
Recommended for potters exploring expressive, crystalline surfaces.

Recommended Firing Range

1240–1280°C (≈ 2264–2336°F)
Cone 7–9 equivalent
Suitable for high-fired stoneware and porcelain.

Sold in Powder Form Only

Mixing Guidelines

  1. Begin with 1:1 water-to-powder ratio.

  2. Sieve thoroughly.

  3. Add a small amount of extra water if needed until the glaze reaches a smooth, workable consistency.

IMPORTANT:
You MUST mix the entire dry bag at once.
Because the glaze is blended by hand, partial mixing will lead to uneven ingredient distribution and unpredictable results.

Yield Reference:
500 g (≈ 1.1 lb) → approx. 800 ml (≈ 27 fl oz) liquid glaze.

Application Notes

• Apply using dipping, brushing, pouring, or spraying.
• Crystal development depends on glaze thickness, cooling curve, and clay body.
• Even standard cooling schedules can yield subtle, beautiful crystals.
• For stronger crystal growth, try slower cooling or slightly thicker application (testing recommended).
• Pairs beautifully with white porcelain and smooth stoneware surfaces.

Safety Warning

• Do not ingest.
• Wear gloves when mixing and applying.
• Avoid contact with eyes; rinse thoroughly if it occurs.
• Prevent glaze dust — never sweep dry material; clean with a wet cloth.
• Ensure adequate ventilation during firing.
