EBOOK "Matte Crystals" Glaze Recipe (Digital Download)

€35.00

Matte Crystals is not intended for use on its own. It is a specialty top layer, developed to introduce a matte, crystalline texture over other high-fire glazes. Applied selectively, it encourages crystal growth that breaks up gloss, adds visual depth, and creates the distinctive crystalline transitions seen in the finished pieces.

How to Achieve the Pictured Effect

To recreate the surface shown on the green cups:

  1. Apply the two-layer combination from the Luminescent Pearl recipe (Green Gold + Satin Pink).

  2. While the glaze surface is still workable, apply a third layer of Matte Crystals glaze in selected areas.

  3. Where the top layer is applied thickly enough, the underlying glaze will shift from gloss to matte, and crystalline structures will develop.
