Pottery Residency · 2 Weeks

€900.00

This pottery artist residency is a short, focused studio immersion designed for makers who are comfortable working independently and who value time, presence, and dialogue within a working studio environment.

The residency runs for two weeks and offers space for concentrated making alongside the quiet rhythm of daily studio life. It is not a course and does not follow a fixed curriculum. Instead, it supports artists who arrive with their own direction and curiosity and wish to deepen their practice through focused time and reflection.

Residents work independently in the studio and are welcomed into a calm, relational atmosphere. We are present in the studio during the residency, and informal dialogue and conversations naturally arise as part of working alongside one another. There is no expectation to “use” a set number of lessons.

Who This Residency Is For

  • Potters comfortable working independently

  • Those seeking time, focus, and a slower studio rhythm

  • Creatives who value dialogue and presence over structured instruction

What’s Included

  • 13 nights of accommodation

  • Daily access to the pottery studio and equipment

  • Shared studio presence and informal guidance

  • Materials and firing package*

    * Materials & firing package includes 4 × 10 kg bags of stoneware and glazing/firing to 1260°C for up to 30 small to medium pieces. Work may also be glazed and fired after departure and shipped internationally (shipping fees depend on destination).

Optional Support

To enrich your residency experience, optional one-to-one sessions and workshops can be arranged in advance. These are not part of a fixed curriculum, but are tailored opportunities to deepen your practice or explore a new direction while you are in the studio.

Examples of optional sessions include:

• Porcelain wheel throwing and hanbuilding
Explore the unique qualities of porcelain, learning strategies for throwing, lifting, and shaping this expressive material.

• Big form making
Learn approaches to scale with projects such as large platters, sculptural vessels, or extended forms that benefit from guided planning.

• Specialty firing experiences
Enjoy creative surface investigations such as horse-hair raku or obvara firing, adding a playful, hands-on exploration.

• Introductory horsemanship experiences
For those who wish to broaden their stay with connection time with our horses, introductory sessions can offer gentle groundwork and herd awareness within the rhythms of the residency.
