Coiling large scale work
A slow, meditative introduction to large-form hand-building
This 4-hour masterclass guides you through coiling technique to create a medium–large sculptural vase or flower pot (approx. 25 cm tall). This method is perfect for beginners and returning makers who want to explore building larger pieces with intention and presence.
The class is fully tailored, making it ideal for individuals, couples, or small groups up to 4 persons.
(Pricing is per person.)
The atmosphere is slow and relaxed, with tea available throughout the day. You are welcome to watch me build demo pieces alongside you.
This masterclass is organised on request.
What We Will Create
You will build a 25 cm tall hand-coiled vase or planter, designed to be a functional, sculptural statement piece for your home.
You will learn:
how to prepare a strong base
how to build even coils
how to shape, join, and refine large forms
techniques for smoothing
finishing touches for a clean, elegant silhouette
Once dry, your piece is:
bisque-fired to 980°C
glazed in your chosen finish
(you may choose from special-effect glazes such as lava, bronze, or our signature stone textures)glaze-fired, then prepared for collection or shipment
Shipping typically takes 4 weeks, depending on your location. Shipping cost is not included.
What’s Included
all tools and materials
bisque firing, glazing in your colour choice
You will leave with a beautiful handmade centerpiece and the foundational skills to continue building large vessels independently.

We recommend bringing a packed lunch, as we take a longer drying break midday in our lounge area.
Alternatively, local restaurants are available 20 minutes away.
Class Schedule (4 Hours + Midday Break)
10:00 – 12:00
Preparing the base & building the first two coils
12:00 – 14:00
Lunch break + drying time
(Bring a packed lunch or visit a café nearby. You’re welcome to stay, relax, explore the studio, or watch demo building.)
14:00 – 16:00
Continuing the coiling process & refining the form.
By the end of this class, you will have shaped more than a vessel.
You will have built something slowly, layer by layer — a piece that carries your rhythm, your touch, your patience.
A vessel that holds space, breath, and intention.
A form born from your hands, the earth, and a few quiet hours in the studio —
a piece that becomes part of your home and part of your story.
