Marbled Cup
A small vessel for grounding rituals, made from five different stoneware bodies marbled together into one quietly expressive form.
Each cup is shaped by hand in our rural Latvian studio, where the clays are blended to create flowing, one-of-a-kind patterns — soft geological movement captured in stoneware. No two pieces can ever be repeated exactly. The marbling is not painted or applied on the surface, but runs through the clay body itself, making each cup completely unique.
After forming, the outside is polished twice by hand to further reveal the depth and movement of the marbled stoneware, bringing forward its layered, earthy character. The result feels tactile, natural, and quietly striking — like polished stone shaped for everyday use.
Inside and along the rim, the cup is finished in our special-effect STONE glaze: more matte and velvety near the rim, then pooling into a deeper glossy surface inside. This natural variation gives each piece an ash-fired, gently weathered feeling while keeping the drinking surface smooth and functional.
The drinking edge is carefully refined and thin, creating a particularly pleasant sensation when sipping. Because the cup is made from high-fired stoneware, the body retains heat beautifully, while the delicate rim keeps the drinking experience light and comfortable — offering the best of both worlds.
A cup for coffee, tea, cacao, or any slow moment that asks to be held with presence.
• Capacity: approx. 200 ml (≈ 6.8 fl oz)
• Height: approx. 7 cm (≈ 2.75 in)
• Diameter: approx. 9 cm (≈ 3.54 in)
Expect subtle differences in marbling, form, glaze movement, and surface finish. These natural variations are what make every piece feel alive and unrepeatable.
High-fired stoneware makes the cup strong, non-porous, and suitable for everyday use, while its marbled clay body and softly shifting glaze give it the presence of a small functional art object.
