2-day pottery holiday for a family

A Private Family & Friends Pottery Immersion

This is a custom-made offering created for a family or a small group of friends (up to four participants). Working in an intimate setting allows the experience to remain relaxed, personal, and deeply attentive to your individual needs and rhythms.

The atmosphere is cosy, welcoming, and unhurried—a space where learning happens naturally, curiosity is encouraged, and everyone feels seen.

You’ll be introduced to several modalities of the ceramic world while also spending time with our herd of horses, learning about their language and presence from the ground. Together, these elements create a deep dive into a living creative sanctuary—a place I once described as “the middle of nowhere,” which has quietly become very much somewhere.

Renata wrote after her stay:

“The whole space of the studio, the energy of the place, the experience gained and the very nice, friendly and professional approach of Laima and Oksana gave me more than I could have expected. I feel that this is exactly what I needed..”

Lesson Length & Structure

Each day includes 4 hours of guided sessions, thoughtfully adapted to your group. I will custom-design the lessons to reflect your interests, energy levels, and wishes.

Two-Day Course Structure

Day 1

  • 10:00 – Arrival, studio & farm tour, meet the horses

  • 11:00–12:00 – Handbuilt cups and bowls (pinching technique)

  • 12:00–14:00 – Lunch break

  • 14:00–16:00 – Guided wheel throwing practice

Day 2

  • 10:00–12:00 – Create your own heirloom dinnerware set (up to 8 pieces)

  • 12:00–14:00 – Lunch break

  • 14:00–16:00 – Wheel practice & trimming or session with the horses

Available Workshop Options

Wheel Throwing

From preparing the clay to centring, pulling cylinders, shaping, and trimming on the following day. Having taught hundreds of beginners, I focus on clarity, sensitivity, and joy in the process.

Dinnerware Making

Create your own functional dinner set using slab-building techniques, allowing professional-looking results within a short time. Both children and adults enjoy working with wooden stamps, plants, and textures to personalise their pieces.

Horsemanship

We begin with the theory and art of horse communication, followed by observing herd dynamics and practicing gentle interaction from the ground. This is a non-riding experience, focused on presence, safety, and inter-species communication.

Handbuilding

We explore cups and bowls through pinching and handbuilding techniques, adding textures and personal details. With a few studio “tricks,” even complete beginners and children can create beautiful, functional work on their first day.

  • Material, glazing, and firing fees*

Total (all-inclusive): 960 EUR
