Rooted in Nature: The Sculptural Wood Art

When I met Dainis and Sandra at a local craft event, there was an instant sense of recognition — the kind that comes when you encounter work so honest, so grounded, that it feels almost timeless. Their creations held a quiet power, one that spoke of nature, patience, and deep respect for material. I knew without hesitation that this was work I wanted to represent alongside my own ceramics.

Since 2022, I have had the privilege of sharing their extraordinary pieces with my clients, and they have become some of my all-time favourites. Each artwork is entirely unique, shaped by the natural character of the wood itself and often incorporating roots, found elements, and reclaimed timber. No two pieces could ever be repeated — they are collaborations between human hands and the slow wisdom of nature.

Dainis & Sandra’s work moves beyond functional objects into the realm of sculptural storytelling. You can feel the history within each grain and curve — wood that once lived, weathered, and endured now reborn into form that honours its origin rather than conceals it.

One day, I would love to create a dedicated physical exhibition of their work — a space where viewers could experience the scale, texture, and soul of these pieces in person. Until that moment comes, I invite you to explore and enjoy this online gallery as a window into their remarkable craftsmanship

.

May these pieces find homes where their presence can be appreciated daily — as art, as story, and as a living connection to the natural world.
