October 2023 - apprenticeship COURSE

A Month of Clay, Connection & Creative Immersion

In October, our pottery studio opened its doors to the largest group course we have hosted so far — welcoming a beautifully diverse circle of international ceramic enthusiasts and students for an immersive four-week journey into clay, form, and conscious making.

It was a true honour to host Anna, Monica, Maud, Ben, Nadine, Christian, and Alice — seven unique creative spirits who arrived from different corners of the world, each carrying their own stories, experiences, and relationship to clay. Together, they formed a dynamic and deeply inspiring group, bound by curiosity, respect, and a shared devotion to the ceramic process.

A Living Rhythm of Learning

Over the course of four weeks, the studio became a shared home of exploration and repetition — a space where hands learned the language of clay, where forms slowly revealed themselves, and where technical practice intertwined with personal discovery.

Days flowed between wheel work, hand-building, surface exploration, glazing, and firing, punctuated by quiet conversations and mutual encouragement. The vast fields surrounding the studio offered space to breathe, to reflect, and to allow ideas to mature gently alongside the material.

This was not simply a course — it was a lived experience of presence, patience, and creative inquiry.

Community Beyond Craft

What made this group truly special was the energy they brought into the space. Cultural perspectives intertwined, friendships formed, shared meals unfolded, and laughter echoed alongside the steady rhythm of the wheel. The studio transformed into a microcosm of creative exchange — a temporary village shaped by clay and care.

Each participant left a visible imprint, not only through the work they created, but through the stories, sensitivity, and openness they shared.

Gratitude & Continuity

Hosting this group was a powerful reminder of why this sanctuary exists — to offer a space where learning extends beyond technique and into self-discovery, stillness, and meaningful connection.

We are deeply grateful to have shared this time with you, and proud to have witnessed your growth, your courage, and your devotion to the process.

You are now woven into the living story of this place.

Thank you,
Anna, Monica, Maud, Ben, Nadine, Christian, and Alice
for your presence, your trust, and your beautiful energy.
