IMMERSE YOURSELF IN THE FUNDAMENTALS OF CERAMICS and HORSES
This is an individual, custom-made offering for 1-4 guests at a time. This creates a cosy, friendly atmosphere where your needs can be met. You can come as an absolute beginner or already with some experience.
This is an exciting intro in the different modalities of ceramic world and getting to know our herd of horses and their language.
LESSON LENGTH
Included is 4 hours of guided sessions per day, each immersion is suited for the small group, we will custom design your classes to suit your wishes. (If you are applying as 1 person only we reserve the right to add up to 3 persons for the same time frame.)
Some of the available options are:
WHEEL LESSONS : I can cover everything from preparing the clay, to centring and pulling up a cylinder and further shaping techniques, as well as trimming in the next day. If you are already advanced we can delve into the art of throwing porcelain, teapot making or other difficult shapes like spheres or combining shapes.
SLAB-ROLLING: I can teach you how to make you dream dinner-set in a simple but effective slab-rolling method- allowing you to create professional looking dinner set in just a few hours. Have a look at our shop part / dinner sets to see examples of what can be created under our guidance.
HORSEMANSHIP: we begin with theory of horse communication, continue by observing the herd movement and practicing basic communication from the ground.
NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
This holiday immersion is ideal as first experience into the magical land of pottery (and horses) as well as for those with experience, but who want to improve their technique or simply try something different.
PROPERTY
Located in the rural Zemgale countryside, the closest town Bauska is 25km, the vibrant capital Riga convenient 70km away, surrounded by vast farming fields and an enchanted apple orchard, next to horse “paddock paradise” sanctuary “LaimesZirgi”.
Pricing offer:
total 16 hours of guidance across 4days = 800eur
Basic material and firing fees (value 200eur)
accommodation in the loft above “Laima Ceramics” pottery studio (4 single beds, great for a family or group of friends) 80eur/per person/night x 4nights +60eur cleaning fee per stay = Total 380eur/per person /per 4 nights
TOTAL all inclusive : 1380eur
200eur basic material/firing fee package includes:
40kg of stoneware/ or 15kg of porcelain
glazing and firing of up to 30 (small/medium) pieces*
Note - shipping of finished pieces to your location is extra (work can be finished for you within 3weeks after departure)
What’s next? It’s a great idea to extend your stay after the immersion course and spend some time in a fully set-up pottery studio integrating your new-found skills!
